My Thoughts on “Mockingjay” by Suzanne Collins

That what I need to survive is not Gale’s fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that.

So after, when he whispers, “You love me. Real or not real?”

I tell him, “Real.”
My favorite quote from the trilogy<3.

I really liked “The Hunger Games” trilogy (though, I still don’t find them as lovely and amusing as the Harry Potter<3 series or the Twilight<3 series). The first book was dull at first mainly because I thought (and still think) that the main character is cold, selfish, and lacks any sense of humor. However the books grew on me and like many readers out there I loved Peeta's sacrificial, kind, and humorous character/personality.
Overall I really like the message she is sending about war and how if we really think about war doesn't benefit anyone. Also, she sheds light on the whole "reality TV" scene and shows the reader that it is far from reality and how it is all fabricated (hence, Kardashians, and Jersey Shore! ughhh). I thought it was clever (and sad) how Prim died at the end after Katnis's never ending attempts to save her life and keep her from the evils of the Capitols. Prim's death was symbolic because it showed that evil can co-exist in the "good" side and the "bad" side and its existence will put everyone in danger no matter what; the only way to prevent evil is to completely omit it which what Peeta has been saying all along! Finally, I liked the ending. It wasn't overly happy, or overly sad.
