Spring Trends: Metallic Gold Nails Easy Manicure Tutorial

IMG_4449
Dear Wonderful Reader,IMG_4457

How amazing does a fresh manicure feel?!

Metallics are making a comeback this Spring and it’s rather a glamorous one. I fell in love with Gold Medal from Sinful Colors ($2) the moment I saw it at the drug store. Gold is a perfect color to try out this trend with because it’s neutral enough to  blend in with your skin tone and it’s also metallic.  The color is fun, classy, and glamorous. It will give your gold jewelry a kick too!

What You NeedIMG_4439

  4. Nail File
  5. Sinful Colors nail polish in Gold Medal
  6. Sally Hansen – Super Shine, Top Coat

  1. Take off any old nail polish with nail polish remover. Then, soak your hands in a bowl of mild hot water for 10 minutes to soften and loosen your cuticles. Feel free to substitute the bowl technique with taking a bath.
  2. Clip your nails to the desired length with a nail clipper. I like mine short!
  3. Gently push back your cuticles with the cuticle pusher. Then nip off the excess dead skin. I tend to over do this step and then regret it later. So, keep in mind that less is more with this step.
  4. File your nails!
  5. Apply one coat of the nail polish color. One coat is enough for this color since it’s not sheer. *Many people advise to apply two coats but I find that this prevents my polish from looking smooth and even.
  6. Apply the top coat for a glossy finish. This is the best top coat, I have ever used. It’s very shiny and it dries very quickly.IMG_4432
  7. If you are like me, and you kinda paint the polish all over your nails and skin and you end up with hands that look like a hot mess, then this step is crucial for you. Add a little nail polish remover in the nail polish remover’s lid. Then, dip the Q – tip in the nail polish remover and press firmly on the skin around your nails. *For this step I used the Precision Tips Q tips (around $3), which are basically Q tips that are enhanced for special uses. Their tips are slimmer and firmer than normal Q tips. I also tried using the generic Q tips but they were useless since their tips were bigger and softer.
  8. Wait until your polish dries. Then, rub the conditioning lotion into your skin. And for a little extra sass, rub your skin with gel baby oil. This product smells delicious and I find the gel form more manageable and less messy.

Happy Pampering!!!

The Easiest and Most Beautiful DIY Project on the Planet

12

I had so much fun with this project. It was such a joy to walk on the beach and look for all those little treasures. Luckily for me, It had plenty of them. Those precious seashells made me realize that beauty is all around us, we just need to make ourselves aware of it.

I placed my vase (or actually wine glass lol) on my desk, where I can see it constantly, because it inspires me to be creative and think outside of the box. Also, because it’s so beautiful and I’m very proud of it!

Another perfect place for it would be… the bathroom since seashells have a calming, soothing effect to them and they remind us of the beach. It will be the perfect view when you’re taking a relaxing bath.

Enjoy and tell me which version is your favorite!

Steps

1
1. Collect them! Try to only collect whole (none-broken ones) or whatever your eyes find appealing.
2
2. Wash them with mild hot water and let them sit for 10 minutes.
3
3. lay them out on their backs and let them air dry for as long as they need. Use a blow dryer if you’d like to speed up the process.
4
4. Divide them by pattern, shape, size, color, or whatever looks good to you.
5
5. Get a wine glass (like I used), bowl, vase, or anything that’s transparent.

You can spray-paint them as well, but I figured nail polish is cheaper and more accessible. I find that nail polish colors that work best are the ones that are almost transparent and/or only provide a nice sheen.

P.S. For an extra sassy kick spray them throughly (before placing them in the bowl) with your favorite perfume/spray, preferably one that smells ocean-y or a tropical one.

Wonderful Wednesday: Pretty Pills & Other Disasters

Dear Wonderful Reader,

get-attachment-1.aspxI’d like to share with you some of my daily dietary supplements that help fortify my body and help me look and feel wonderful. I usually just take all of them in the morning, so I don’t forget them. Then, I eat  my breakfast or a piece of fruit. I take 2 capsules of Fish Oil, and B12, and one capsule of Biotin. The B12 are just supplements for energy and they are made in the form of raspberry gummy bears; they are so tasty and they’re a lot of fun! I take the Biotin to nourish my hair, nails, and skin. And I take the Fish Oil because it helps to prevent against heart disease and other diseases.

The pretty pink and purple gummies are Calcium supplements for bone support. I don’t take them, but my mother does and she thinks they’re absolutely delicious! Also, before starting my B12 gummies, I used to take MuliVites by VitaFusion and they were super tasty and tasted just like the real gummy bears, if not better.

All the brands featured above are affordable and they are a good way to stay nutritious in today’s busy world. Though, be careful as to not over-take them, I only take those 3 types in the morning, and if I wanna add a new type then I substitute with an old one. And please, do consult your doctor before taking them.

Stay Healthy…

Wonderful Wednesday: Warm Lemon Water in the Morning

IMG_4017

Dear Wonderful Reader,

I present to you Warm Lemon Water for a more wonderful-looking-and-feeling you!

This simple step has been a part of my morning routine for the past two weeks and it has proven itself to be a success. I have researched and it appears that lemon has great beauty and health benefits (hence, all the beauty and skin products that are made with lemon/lemon extract). The list could go on and on but I’ll just present you with the top benefits.

Benefits of Drinking Warm Lemon Water

1. Clears Skin

because vitamin C and the other antioxidant found in lemon help revive and rejuvenate the skin, clear acne and blemishes, and decrease wrinkles.

2. Improves Digestion

by flushing out toxins and prompting the production of bile.

3. Helps Cure the Common Cold

and aids against immune system deficiencies.

4. Boosts the Sense of Well-Being

because of its refreshing taste, scent, and color.

The Recipe

1. Warm up the water. I usually drink it at 120 Fahrenheit and I use regular water from my faucet.

2. Squeeze half a lemon in your cup, preferably fresh or no more than a day old (make sure to keep the other half of the lemon in the fridge).

3. Pour the warm water in your cup and start your morning the right way!

Enjoy…

Wonderful Wednesday: Bedroom and Restroom Decor Ideas

Hey Lovelies,

This Wonderful Wednesday holds a very special place in my heart because Egypt is finally freed from the cruel, barbaric Muslim Brotherhood Ruling. I am so happy for Egypt and this only makes me anticipate good things and a hopeful future for Egypt. Its true, the God is fair and good will always rule over the bad.

Moving on to the post, I decided to post some simple decor ideas captured straight from my own bedroom and restroom. I know some of you may think that I’m showing off but I’m only posting this because I really love all those pieces and I spent so much time and energy on them. I hope that it may inspire some of you to reinvent your bedroom or a part of your house that you’ve neglecting, cause we all know how our surrounding affect our mood and spirit.
